Lego Rock Band Track List Revealed

The set list for Lego Rock Band has been announced and it's a pretty interesting list.  In addition to these songs it was announced that the game would allow you to transfer these songs over to Rock Band 2 on the PS3 and the Xbox.  It looks like Wii owners are out of luck in that front.  In addition to that you will have access to the Rock Band Store where you can download all the tracks that are labeled as family friendly.  They will be clearly marked and will be the only ones available in Lego Rock Band.  It looks like an interesting mix of songs and definitely a bit more family friendly.

Lego Rock Band is scheduled for release on November 3rd and is rated E10+.

No Rock Band Network on Wii

Later this year Harmonix plans to update Rock Band 2 to allow users to connect to the Rock Band Network. The tools for the service were developed using Microsoft's XNA toolset, meaning that all the content will be available to Xbox 360 users. According to a Harmonix PR Representative they would "love to get it running on Wii."

What this means is that the service will be unavailable to users on Wii. The reason for this? Companies, other than Nintendo, cannot patch a game after it has been released. Only one game so far has even had a "patch" through a firmware upgrade and that was Wii Sports Resort. The only way to do this would be through a new disc release or possibly some kind of server side update for Wii owners, but I'm not sure just how possible that would be. If you're looking to get user generated content on Rock Band 2 and you play the game on Wii, you'll have to hope that some of the songs might be released through their weekly download service.

EA and Harmonix have released the set list for their upcoming games The Beatles: Rock Band. If you haven't heard of this game yet, it's Rock Band with the Beatles. It will chronicle their career from the beginning to the end and will feature 45 songs. The set list below has 44 of those 45 songs:

One song that is curiously missing from that list is "Hey Jude". Is this the song that is missing from the list and will be announced at some point? Will they hold it until the game is released? Or is there another song altogether that will appear in the game? It seems to make sense that if you're going to have a game featuring the Beatles that "Hey Jude" would have to be included, but you never really know, now do ya'?

I'm really looking forward to this game. I will be picking up the game only. I have instruments, but I don't have $250 to spend on replicas of the actual instruments the guys played. Get your friends together and work on those harmonies because we're not that far away from the September 9th release of The Beatles: Rock Band.
