Head Back to the Wild West With Fast Draw Showdown

Have you ever dreamed of standing out in the middle of town at high noon staring down the low down dirty thief that stole your woman?  Well, now you'll get that chance with Fast Draw Showdown by Digital Leisure.  This reimagining of the old arcade FMV shooter will hit WiiWare later this year.  Digital Leisure's Paul Gold sat down with us for a bit to answer some questions about this upcoming WiiWare title.

What can you tell us about the game? Is this based off of the PC and Laserdisc version of the game?
Yes, the title is a re-imagining of the original arcade release some time ago.
Here is the official game synopsis:

When it comes to fast draw there're only two types of people: the quick.and the dead! Now you have the chance to find out where you stand, or lie, as the case may be. You'll go up against the best quick draws in the business, including one of the world's fastest, Wes Flowers.

Unholster your Wii Remote and show'em who the fastest draw really is, in this live action shooter! You can even take on a friend in multiplayer modes, and see which of you has the quickest draw.  You'll need some serious speed and awesome accuracy to take on these gunslingers.so get ready for some real fast draw action!

When I imagine a wild west showdown I can see players holding the remote down at their side and then bringing it up quickly to fire. What can you tell us about the controls?

Well that's exactly what players will get to do! You'll holster your Wii Remote and then when given the signal, you'll draw on your opponent and try to win! We'll have more details about the control system and gameplay as we get closer to release.

What types of games modes will we see in the game? Will there be Quick and the Dead style gunslinging tournaments, a showdown style game or will there be other firearm competitions as well?

The title includes both a single player and two player mode. In two player you can challenge your friend to a showdown to see who can take out the shooter first or in a quick draw to see who scores the fastest time!

The wild west is full of colorful character both real and fictional. Will there be any appearances by character we may know aside from Wes Flowers?  Will Loraine, the prostitute make an appearance or has she been removed to make the game a bit more family friendly?

Wes Flowers is the main fast draw character in the game as he was in the original arcade! Lorraine does make an appearance should you achieve a high score and in a couple other instances as you play through the game.

Will there be any online interaction? Things like leaderboards to determine who has the fastest draw in the world?

As much fun as it would have been to post top scores online, Fast Draw Showdown for WiiWare will not be online compatible. However, you'll be able to see all of your top scores in the "Fastest Draws" section!

Can you discuss the release date and price point yet?

Unfortunately, we are unable to release any of that information at this time.  However, as soon as a release date is announced all the details will be available from our website at http://www.digitalleisure.com/.  We hope to release this winter on the WiiShopChannel!

Thank you so much Paul for joining us today.

Here are some more screens for your viewing pleasure.
